Month after the accident Norm's doctors told him he may never walk into a courtroom again...
...12 pairs of worn out lawyer shoes later, together with a fine Brooklyn Jury to whom Norm victoriously presented an injury case.
Limb loss is one of the gravest injuries a person can sustain. The constant physical challenges to overcome, the body image component, the continued prosthetic care needs and sometimes continued medical treatment can be debilitating. The strain on your loved ones causes you pain and guilt. The financial burdens can seem drowning.
There is no way a non-amputee lawyer can understand what you are going through.
On August 11th 2006, while riding his Ducati Motorcycle to the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York to appear on a Capital Case, Norm Steiner watched his left leg get ripped off of his body above the knee. It sounds gruesome but Norm considers it the luckiest day of his life. He survived. Seven months later, after many surgeries, Norm learned to walk again hand in hand with his 1-year old son - who was also learning to walk. Norm successfully petitioned USA Boxing to allow him to fully compete in sanctioned boxing events. When asked how he presses on in life and in his legal cases Norm refers to the meaningful words of the notorious RBG (Ruth Bader Ginsberg): "So often in life, things that you regard as an impediment turn out to be great good fortune." The fate of surviving, being around for his children, having another child and a grandchild since the wreck and owning a changed perspective on life, has been the greatest good fortune of all!
This unique understanding of an amputee’s life makes Norm Steiner the best choice to represent you.
Norm has successfully litigated catastrophic amputation cases to trial and verdict and has achieved outstanding results. He has successfully litigated medical malpractice amputations as well as traumatic amputation cases.
The key to success in personal injury cases comes down to just a few important factors; understanding and caring about your client, and, being able to fully explain to a jury what a day in your client’s life is like - the injuries, the hardships, the small nuances other non-amputee lawyers would never even consider.
Norm is proud and honored to serve the amputee community. He holds his amputee client’s in a high and dear regard. Being able to put the circumstances of his own amputation to good use for his clients is the greatest good fortune of his amputation.
Winning in & out of the ring.
